Ukrainian Armed Forces honed their skills in the Chernobyl Zone

As part of the planned exercises, Ukraine trained Special Forces soldiers close to the Belarusian border, namely in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Exercises with the use of live shells and the interaction of assault groups of several units at once should deter Russian troops from the Belarusian border if they climb a second time.
Destroy enemy targets within a few kilometers from the Belarusian border – this is the task of a joint unit of territorial defense forces. To protect the borders, according to legend, an assault group on armor under the cover of artillery and tanks is sent to land enemy troops. The military notes that the border is less than 8 kilometers away. During the training, heavy equipment, tanks, an armored vehicle “Max Pro”, a self-propelled artillery battery were involved.
The exercise was also held at another location – the “Polissya” hotel in Pripyat. This is how fighters learn to interact in urban environments.
The situation with Russian exercises in Belarus
Russia is actively transferring trains with equipment and personnel of the Russian armed forces to Belarus. Because of this, there is a fear that the Russian Federation will again try to attack Ukraine from Belarusian territory.
British intelligence claims that a large number of Russian troops in Belarus does not pose a threat to Ukraine.
In turn, military expert Oleg Zhdanov believes that the Russian Federation, with its exercises in Belarus, has found another way to keep Ukraine on its toes and distract our military to the northern border.
