Pripyat Police Station
Pripyat was a model city. Light streets, developed infrastructure, and people, united by the atomic energy and belief in bright communist future. However, this paradise was hiding a bit of protests and a lot of other issues like domestic theft, drunk fights and sometimes conflicts in the workplace. To keep an eye on the public order, the city had to have police and punishment system.
After the accident, officers didn’t leave the place. As long as the evacuation had to be temporary and people left almost all their belongings in the apartments, officers had to patrol the city. Pripyat was divided into several sectors which were fenced with barbed wire. Alarm was installed by the perimeter; however, personnel had to be on the streets 24/7. By the way, the first looter was detained in less than 24 hours after evacuation.

The station and personnel continued working for five years more after the accident.
Pretty big police station is located in the second micro district of the city. There you can visit the backyard where the prisoners were able to walk a little bit and catch some sunlight. By the entrance door, you can see part of the administrative building and a huge map of the city in the main hall.
