Command center of Duga-1

Command centre of Duga-1 is located next to the array. Big grey building with thick walls and tiny windows used to be the main facility of the military complex. Metal array was supposed to catch the signal which was sent to the centre through hundreds of cables and modern electronic machines had to analyze it. This was the main function of the command centre.

The building had big hall for stuff gatherings, training rooms, but the vast majority of it was occupied by computers. After the accident, the radar was put out of service, so all the equipment was relocated to the radar near Komsomolsk-na-Amure.
