Where is Chernobyl on a Map?

Chernobyl is the administrative center of the exclusion zone. It is located on the territory of Ukraine, formerly the Ukrainian SSR. The distance to Kyiv in a straight line is about 83 km. Far to the north is the border with Belarus.

The Administration of the Exclusion Zone (AZO), which is a department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, is located in the town. In the exclusion zone itself, there is personnel of AZO enterprises, personnel of the SSE Chernobyl NPP, and a small number of civilians (self-settlers).

The civilian population lives in 11 abandoned settlements of the Chernobyl map. The total number of the civilian population on the affected area map does not exceed 300 people. The number of personnel working in the exclusion zone is about 5,000 people.

At the moment, there are 11 objects of the Ukrainian natural reserve fund on the Chernobyl exclusion zone map. The territory is gradually turning into a reserve for various species of wild animals because their organism can cope with the negative conditions of the place which you can check on the Chernobyl radiation map.

What is included in the exclusion zone?

After the terrible accident, the map of the Chernobyl exclusion zone has included all the territory around the plant, the towns of Chernobyl and Pripyat, as well as the villages of Polesskoye and Vilcha.

The city of Pripyat is located 30 km from the power plant. It was founded specifically for engineers who worked at a nuclear plant. After the disaster, time stopped here because people were evacuated within two days. The busy town has ceased to be a ghost town. The most famous attraction in Pripyat which belongs to the Chernobyl zone map is an amusement park with a Ferris wheel.
